My so called "Fast-Food life"
Last weekend I had a superb Subway sandwich in Munich. You might say that that is nothing special, and that you have one every week, or even every day. But that Subway-Sandwich was my third, in the last four years!
I live in a very small and remote village, somewhere in Austria. I think I had my first burger when I was around 14 years old. Back then I would go to MC Donald’s every now and then, a rare occasion, since the next Mc-Donald’s – at that time the only chain I knew, was an hour to drive away. That did not bother me at all since the only thing I liked at Mc Donald’s was the French fries.
This changed when I joined the army. I hated the army meals and whenever I had the chance, usually once or twice a month, I would go to MC Donald’s. I discovered that MC Donald’s had more to offer then just french fries. They had different burger, almost weekly, sometimes with Chinese Sauce, sometimes spiced up with Greek herbs. I really fell in love with the "Golden Double Arch" during that time. I was very disappointed when I started traveling the world and realized that, beside Austria, Germany is the only country that offers a different burger now and then.
Today I’m 25, and over the past 10 years or so I have learned that there is more out there then just MC Donald’s. I found out that there is something called "Burger King", Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and "Kentucky Fried Chicken". Maybe a few more, but I can’t remember their names. I haven’t tried the KFC burgers yet and the last KFC I saw was a couple of weeks ago in Venice. Someone told me once that I might be the luckiest person to have never eaten at KFC, so I will stay away from those evil KFCs.
MC Donald’s isn’t my favorite junk-food dealer anymore, I have a new favorite corporate food chain. It goes back to the year 2000, when I traveled around Florida and discovered something called "Subway". Since that time I love huge sandwiches, stuffed with salad, onions, cucumber, and those hot spicy chicken breasts. I would eat there more often, but the next restaurant is more then 200 miles away. I’d have to choose to either go to Munich or Vienna to satisfy my sandwich-addiction.
But I’m happy the way it is, Fast-Food (beside the Austrian Mc Donald’s) is still something special for me, that I can’t and wont have every day. I enjoy having a Big-Mac every now and then, large fries and a Super-Size Coke. And if I see a Subway restaurant somewhere there is nothing that can keep me away from it.

How about the fat, the unhealthy food that they are giving you?
What about thousands of people who died because of the disease that you probably don't know about?
How about them feeing you a burger with pieces of glass? How about vCJD that literally eats your brain? How about a 6 year old girl? The suffocation that Lauren Beth Rudolph went through is unimaginable. She experienced three heart attacks and suffered tremendous pain before her death.
No one is forced to eat at fast food restaurants, it is our own responsability keep a balance. And if kids go there, its their parents who fund the fat-food. Just like cigaretts, no one is forcing you to smoke them. You even buy them by yourself. There is something called a free will and a brain. Use it from time to time to evaluate what you consume and what you should avoid.
